Sigh, academia

An e-mail from my advisor in its entirety:

"These are not accurate -

this must be the problem - you do not hear or process what is being said -"

…Well, since I haven't perfected time travel yet and haven't developed my psychic mutant powers, wanna tell me what it was you said??

Of course, the above is what I wanted to say; in reality, I didn't reply. Sadly, this e-mail is all too familiar in academia and could have come from any advisor. It is a prime example what is fundamentally wrong with academia and a large majority of professors.

Solution: I'm going to start recording our conversations. I tried sending recapping e-mails in the past but those never worked, my advisor would just ignore them. No one can argue with a recording.
