Cleaning off the plate

Yesterday I met with a professor I worked with in Japan.  He was visiting with his family and stopped by the university to go over a manuscript we had been working on.  He wanted me to re-do part of the analysis and change the model and make some changes to the intro.  I managed to finish all of that today and just sent off the paper!  Now that manuscript is off my plate and on his!  Sending the revisions to him felt so good, I love that wonderful feeling you get when you've just taken something off your plate and it's totally out of hands at the moment.  Frankly, I don't care if he takes a long time to get back to me, I have enough to do as it is with trying to defend by December/January.

Tomorrow I'll need to start the analysis on another manuscript that we started but never finished due to various reasons...this paper has NOTHING to do with my dissertation so I'm not too keen on working on it at the moment :-\   But I did make it very clear to him that it will not be my priority and that I will only run the analysis quickly since I already have all the coding and to make sure the paper is moving in the right direction.  I made it clear that the paper will get written when it gets written.  My priority is getting the hell out of this place, afterall.  Thankfully he understands that too.

So, hopefully I'll have another productive day tomorrow too...though I can only seem to manage to work 2 hours at a time and take a long break in the early afternoon then work again in the evening.  I'm perfectly happy and at peace with my working style...I just wish others would be too *cough* advisor *cough*

Before I go to bed, I will leave you with a cute video of a cat who thinks she's a dog.  Nite, folks!
